As a prospective Bachelor of Engineering (B. Eng.) in civil engineering - dual at Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences, we will equip you with a broad range of technical knowledge and provide you with additional in-depth knowledge in sub-areas of construction.
In connection with your work in the cooperation company, you are integrated into the practice from the very beginning.

You can choose between five practical focuses:

• Structural engineering

• Infrastructure | Water management

• Infrastructure | Road transport

• Construction operations | Construction management

• Geotechnics | Soil mechanics

The course is not only intended to secure technical and engineering qualifications, but also to develop independence, creativity, knowledge of English, rhetoric and presentation, as well as an awareness of the responsible preservation and design of our environment. The duration of the course is 7 semesters including the practical phase and bachelor's thesis (final thesis).

Civil engineers are sought-after specialists in the construction industry, in engineering and project management offices, in state or municipal planning, monitoring and administration departments, in the real estate industry, in trade associations and industrial companies: They know what they are doing because they calculate precisely and their ideas formulated precisely. They are familiar with building materials, know how to use them or work on developing completely new ones.

If you choose the Bachelor's degree program in Civil Engineering - dual at HS Kaiserslautern, you can expect intensive and practice-oriented studies. A big advantage is working in a cooperative company. Prospective civil engineers always learn from concrete projects. You will learn the necessary skills together with the students of our Civil Engineering course in the courses. The courses belong to so-called modules, which are structured across disciplines.

The first semesters focus primarily on the basic sciences. But even the first lectures are devoted to practical building questions, such as building materials or building construction. What is taught here is by no means checked off once you have passed your homework, but rather accompanies you throughout your entire course of study. In the fifth and sixth semesters you will be able to complete your intensive studies in the subject area of ​​your choice. Of course, you will complete your practical phase in the 7th semester in your partner company, before you start working on your bachelor's thesis. You can work this out in close cooperation with the construction industry. Research-oriented theses are also possible.

Qualification for a Bachelor of Engineering or a completed diploma in civil engineering is a prerequisite for the consecutive Master's degree program, which is currently being prepared. It will last 3 semesters and lead to a Master of Engineering (M. Eng.).
