SFInt stands for "Structural consolidation of internationalization through DoubleDegree programs and living partnerships".


It is a project for the internationalization of Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences funded by the BMBF and DAAD from February 2022 to October 2025 within the framework of HAW.International, Module B.
 

What are our goals?

  • Establishment and further development of double-degree programs
  • Intensification of joint research and teaching with partner universities
  • Opening of professional perspectives for international students in companies in the region.

Who are our target groups?

SFInt addresses students and teaching staff of Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences.

Double-Degree Programs

As part of the SFInt project, the following programs will be newly established:

  • Univerzita Tomáše Bati, Zlin (Czech Republic): "Polymer Engineering (M.Sc.)" with our department ALP "Refinement of Polymer and Composite Products" (M.Sc.)
  • Turku AMK, Turku (Finland): "Mechanical Engineering (B.Eng.)" with our department AING "Mechanical Engineering (B.Eng.)"
  • Università Politecnica delle Marche, Ancona (Italy): "International Management and Finance (Double Degree) (M.A.)" with our department BW.
  • Università Politecnica delle Marche, Ancona (Italy): "Financial Services Management (Double Degree) (M.A.)" with our department BW.
  • Universiteit Hasselt, Hasselt (Belgium): "Engineering Technology (M.Sc.)" with our department IMST "Systems Engineering for Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (M.Sc.)" or "Biomedical Micro Engineering (M.Sc.)"

The following programs will be further expanded as part of the SFInt project:

  • Universidad Nacional del Litoral, Santa Fe (Argentina): "International Business Administration" with our department BW
  • Universidad Nacional del Litoral, Santa Fe (Argentina): "International Management and Finance (Double Degree) (M.A.)" with our department BW
  • University West, Trollhättan (Sweden): "Mechanical Engineering (M.Sc.)" with our department AING in "Mechanical Engineering (M.Sc.)" or "Mechatronics (M.Sc.)"

Intensifying contacts between (regional) companies and international students

One of the SFInt project objectives is to intensify contacts between regional companies and international students. To this end, both groups were surveyed, see results in the picture on the right. On the one hand, these were partner companies in the KOSMO network (KOoperativers StudienMOdell der Hochschule Kaiserslautern), and on the other hand, the foreign students at Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences, i.e. those who obtained their higher education entrance qualification outside the Federal Republic of Germany.
