Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences is a research-orientated university of applied sciences with a special focus on technology, business, design and health with computer science as an integrated cross-sectional competence. We educate around 6,200 students in over 50 degree programmes and further education courses at three study locations in Kaiserslautern, Pirmasens and Zweibrücken. We currently have four research specialisations. 

Teaching for lifelong professional and personal development
All of our teaching staff impart their teachingwith a high standard of professional expertise. The specific professional and personal skills that our students develop not only prepare them for specific professional activities. We want to provide our graduates with a solid toolbox that they can use to shape their lifelong professional and personal development. It is also important to us that everyone in the university community is willing to get involved and take responsibility in their profession and in the society in which they live.

At the beginning of the 21st century, the demands on professional qualifications are changing more than in previous decades.New technologies and the digital transformation are impacting all areas of life.In order to keep pace with these changes, it is important for each and every individual to be open to this change and to meet it with knowledge and skills. 
It is a matter of course for us that the university adapts to these changes in its teaching and research programmes. It is therefore important to us to offer an excellent range of specific further education opportunities that are compatible with professional and family requirements. At the same time, the university is seizing the opportunities offered by digitalisation and making strategic use of them by further expanding digital offerings in teaching, research and continuing education.

Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences is not only at the cutting edge of teaching. Working and experimenting at the limits of knowledge in one's own discipline is pursued with great commitment. Solutions for concrete problems in the economy, environment and society are developed in all departments at Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences, so that the benefits of our research can be seen immediately. In some of these research areas, we have an international relevance that is further promoted by the entire university community.
