Long version

For a university with three study locations, a particular challenge is facilitating personal communication with each other and the integration of the study locations. The university supports good communication and cooperation across the physical distance. To this end, suitable framework conditions and opportunities are provided or created to get to know each other and socialise, thus strengthening the university community.

The University of Apllied Science Kaiserslautern has grown considerably in recent years. An increase in the number of students and new colleagues has led to an increasing need for communication. This takes place in various contexts - within organisational units, within the university as a whole and beyond: communication within the University of Apllied Science Kaiserslautern community should be open and accommodating in all of these contexts. It is solution-orientated, reliable, unprejudiced and trusting. These guidelines also promote the identification of each individual member with the university. This should also be evident in the communication between university members and external partners from society and politics, with whom we are always ready to co-operate. In particular, we attach great importance to a trusting commitment to successful cooperation in the field of research and transfer with companies and public institutions.
As interaction and communication at the University of Apllied Science Kaiserslautern at all three study locations is characterised by a family atmosphere and short distances, it is important to all members of the university to live a good welcoming culture and to integrate new members of the university quickly and openly. It is important to treat each other openly, appreciatively, transparently and respectfully and to enable the acceptance of criticism and the finding of constructive solutions in personal dialogue. In the context of the university, people from different cultural backgrounds communicate with each other; all members of the university community should be aware of and respect different communication patterns in different cultural backgrounds.
