Referat Student Life Cycle

The university hopes to introduce female students to their prospects at an early age and show that an academic education in a STEM subject will offer excellent possibilities for their future careers. Additionally, companies’ expectations of prospective employees’ skills have changed. Alongside technical qualifications, they are also looking for candidates with communication skills, foreign language skills, empathy towards others, and the ability to work in a team. The department offers a range of opportunities to get a taste of all the specialist areas of the university. Here, the focus is placed on guided and independent engagement with STEM topics in order to assist in prospective students’ decisions on what to study.

Girls-Tech-Congress

In keeping with the motto: “STEM - discover, experience, touch!”, the Girls-Tech-Congress for female students in the 9th to 13th years of school offers a day full of experiments, creativity, and fun in exciting workshops.

STEM Mentoring Taster Days

For pre-university schoolgirls, we offer insights into the day-to-day student life, and also show helpful tools and tips to help them get into studying a STEM subject.

Tech caching parcours

The tech caching parcours is a scavenger hunt through the fascinating world of advanced technologies: Microsystems technology, optical technologies, nanotechnology, and renewable energy sources.

Mentoring for the first semester

Start your studies with some useful contacts! That is the goal of the various mentoring options for female students in their first two semesters.

Groups of ladies can get a taste of various STEM subjects in a relaxed workshop atmosphere.

Die Hochschule Kaiserslautern möchte Schülerinnen zu einem relativ frühen Zeitpunkt Perspektiven eröffnen und zeigen, dass eine akademische Ausbildung im MINT-Bereich viele Zukunftschancen bietet. Zudem haben sich die Kompetenzerwartungen der Firmen gewandelt. Neben den fachlichen Qualifikationen werden Kommunikationsfähigkeit, Fremdsprachenkenntnisse, Sensibilität im Umgang mit Menschen oder die Fähigkeit zur Teamarbeit besonders gewünscht.

Die verschiedenen Angebote an der Schnittstelle Schule/Hochschule bieten Schnuppermöglichkeiten in alle Fachbereiche der Hochschule. Dabei steht die geleitete und dennoch eigenständige Auseinandersetzung mit MINT Themen zur Unterstützung der Studienentscheidung im Fokus.
