Information on Academic Adjustments for Students

Students with disabilities, chronic illnesses, or other long-term health impairments* that hinder their ability to fulfill academic and examination requirements can apply for academic adjustments.

This includes not only students with physical or sensory impairments but also those with chronic somatic conditions, mental health disorders, or specific learning disabilities (e.g., autism, dyslexia).

The goal of these adjustments is to enable students with disabilities, chronic illnesses, or enduring health impairments to complete their academic work and examinations under fair conditions. These measures aim to level the playing field and minimize disadvantages compared to their peers. However, the core requirements and competencies of the examination must still be met.

Therefore, academic adjustments must be requested early from the respective Examination Committee to determine, on an individual basis, how the adjustments can be applied to the specific academic work or examination in advance.

Whether you are eligible for academic adjustments depends on two factors: the submission of a medical certificate from a specialist confirming your health impairment and evidence of how this condition limits your ability to fulfill academic requirements.

If you have any questions or would like to request a consultation in advance, feel free to contact us.
