Pre-study internship in interior design

In accordance with the Higher Education Act, students must provide evidence of a pre-study internship of 10 weeks prior to the start of lectures in the third semester.

However, it is recommended that the pre-study work placement is completed before the start of the course.

The pre-study work placement should be completed in as many consecutive periods as possible, whereby periods of less than two weeks will not be recognized.

Only practical activities from the main construction trades, such as:

  • Earthworks and foundation work
  • Reinforced concrete and masonry work
  • carpentry work

and from the other building trades, such as

  • Carpentry work
  • locksmith work
  • Installation work (electrical, sanitary, ventilation or heating work),
  • finishing trades,
  • Trade fair construction or comparable trades recognized after prior consultation with the internship officer of the course.

Completed vocational training in the aforementioned trades will be recognized as a pre-study internship (in this case, please enclose an officially certified copy of the journeyman's certificate or previous practical training with your application).
