Course program

Let's talk about the outside of the inside of the outside world. Too mysterious? Then start with a bachelor's degree in interior design at Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences. In seven semesters, you will learn how to design people's interiors.

As a salaried interior designer, you will be close to people. Every day. For better or for worse. We at the Department of Building and Design at the University of Applied Sciences Kaiserslautern want you to be one of the good ones. Among those who create an atmosphere in which we humans feel good physically, emotionally and in community with others, in which we feel comfortable, in which we enjoy working or even just thinking about life, the universe and all the rest.

In order for you to know how to do this, we will show you how to design, how to achieve an effect, and how a space designed in this way is not only superficially beautiful, but also fulfills its function as a home, workplace, or exhibition stand. You will learn about technology and science, about the creative process, and also about psychology. Interior designers design villas and luxury liners, doctor's offices and stage sets, furniture and textiles.

So when you graduate after seven semesters with a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design, you have a first academic degree that qualifies you for a career, a license to touch people with interior design. Because potential employers know this, you will have plenty of opportunities in architecture and planning offices, in building administration or construction management, in the private sector and in public administration.
