Practical phase
The link between theory and practice is ensured through the teaching of application-oriented course content and projects, the establishment of practical phases, and the organization and composition of professors and lecturers.
Practical phases are planned in which the students are confronted with the everyday working life and the customs of professional, market-oriented working methods.
Internships can be carried out in companies or research institutions and are supervised by the university (internship plan, permanent supervisor from the university, internship report in the forum).
The explicit aim is to link the content of projects and internships (and possibly also the bachelor thesis) or to carry them out in cooperation with industry or agencies/offices. In this context, students are also encouraged to do internships abroad (during lecture-free periods or in connection with a semester abroad).
Internship
Since the bachelor's program is 7 semesters long, the traditional internship semester is no longer offered in its usual form. Instead, students should gain practical experience during the lecture-free period.
The duration of this 'integrated practical phase' at Virtual Design is 12 weeks.
The internship is completed by the internship seminar, which serves to prepare and review the internship and to prepare the internship report including a multimedia presentation.
Three copies of the model contract must be stamped and signed by Prof. Matthias Pfaff in the secretary's office. One copy is to be given to the assistants, the other two copies are for the company and the student.
It is possible to interrupt your studies for a period of up to one year in order to complete an extraordinary internship approved by the department.
