About the Curriculum Guidelines Curricularen Richtlinien

The curriculum Guidelines Curricularen Richtlinien define internal standards for quality in the areas of study and teaching at the University of Applied Sciences Kaiserslautern. The curriculum guidelines specify the framework requirements of the state ordinance on study accreditation dated June 28, 2018 (HSchulQSAkkrV RP), hereinafter abbreviated as “LRVO,” with regard to the formal quality requirements for degree programs at the University of Applied Sciences Kaiserslautern (HSKL). Other accreditation-related requirements of the Rhineland-Palatinate State Higher Education Act Landeshochschulgesetzes Rheinland-Pfalz (RLP), the Accreditation Council Akkreditierungsrats (AR) , and the Model Legal Ordinance Musterrechtsverordnung (MRVO)of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs Kultusministerkonferenz (KMK) are also taken into account.

The complete formal and content-related criteria for the internal accreditation of degree programs are set out in the guidelines for the assessment of bachelor's degree programs, the guidelines for the assessment of master's degree programs, Leitfaden zur Beurteilung von Bachelorstudiengängen, dem Leitfaden zur Beurteilung von Masterstudiengängenand the guidelines for the assessment of specific study models (double degrees, research-oriented master's degree programs,  dual study programs, part-time study programs ,  and university continuing education programs (Double Degree, Forschungsorientierter MasterstudiengangDuales Studium, Berufsbegleitendes Studium Studiengang der hochschulischen Weiterbildung). Together with the general assessment criteria, the curriculum guidelines define the standards for quality in the areas of study and teaching that apply internally at the University of Applied Sciences Kaiserslautern.

The Quality in Studies and Teaching administration office checks compliance with formal requirements in internal accreditation procedures using formal criteria checklist(s). Technical and content-related criteria are evaluated by an external panel of experts. In general, all requirements of the LRVO, the Accreditation Council, the KMK, and the RLP State Higher Education Act are taken into account in the internal quality assurance of the degree programs, as are the university's internal decisions, regulations, and strategic guidelines, e.g., through its mission statement, vision, and university development plan.

The curriculum guidelines will be further discussed and updated as necessary. This task is the responsibility of the members of the Senate Committee on Quality and Teaching (SQL). The results of the SQL's deliberations will be submitted to the Senate for information.
