In addition to the examination periods, the standard period of study also includes a 20-week internship integrated into the course of study as a practical professional activity in accordance with § 27 Para. 4 HochSchG, the proof of which is a prerequisite for admission to work on the Bachelor's thesis according to § 10 Para. 3.

The internship can be replaced by corresponding periods at a foreign university or by a semester abroad or, in exceptional cases, by equivalent internships.
 

Practical semester

The practical semester takes place in the fifth semester. The internship lasts 20 weeks.
Students prepare daily reports on the internship project. The daily reports must be submitted to the internship coordinator of the Faculty of Architecture no later than two weeks after the beginning of the semester following the internship. The exact deadline will be announced in the examination schedule and in the semester schedule. Students present their internship report in a public colloquium at the university.

The practical project will be accepted under the following conditions

• Presentation of the internship contract approved by the university
• Submission of the internship certificate from the internship site (or sites).
• Submission of daily reports on time
• Successful participation in the colloquium
• Once all the documents have been submitted, the practical project will be credited with 20 ETCS points on the student's account.

The aim is to complete the practical project without interruption. The internship should last at least 8 weeks.
