The Department of Building and Design brings together the four degree programs of Architecture, Civil Engineering, Interior Design and Virtual Design.

As the home of creative, design-oriented courses, the Department of Building and Design cultivates a culture of interdisciplinary exchange and promotes the creative development of students with intensive and personal support as well as technical equipment that is outstanding for German universities. 

In addition to numerous workshops and laboratories, these include facilities for 3D scanning, laser cutting, motion capturing, 3D stereo projection, and 360-degree photography. Combined with the extensive computer equipment, the audio/video lab and the photo studio, students have comprehensive equipment for media production at the highest level. In addition to several computer labs equipped with the latest hardware and software, the extensive university library is available until late at night.
