Institute for Sustainable Building and Design (INBG)

Sustainable spatial production in urban and rural areas is the research area of the INBG. As an interdisciplinary field of action of architecture, urban planning, social sciences and design, spatial production aims at the interplay of technical and social innovation. This requires the integration and participation of actors in planning processes beyond established stakeholder constellations. By cooperating with different stakeholder groups, the Institute acts as a think and do tank for sustainable spatial production in the region.

The Institute for Sustainable Building and Design pools the expertise of the degree courses in the Department of Building and Design (Architecture, Civil Engineering, Interior Architecture and Virtual Design) at the interface between research and teaching.

The institute is part of the applied research focus  Sustainable Materials Products and Processes (STAMP)
