In 2019, the HSKL decided to test an alternative procedure for internal accreditation. The process in the advisory board model is characterized by continuous discussion of teaching in the degree program, accompanied by an external advisory board. The topics of accreditation are discussed, as are current developments in the field that have an impact on teaching. Regular discussions with the university management, as well as formal checks by the administrative office, serve to develop and ensure the quality of the degree programs.
The advisory board model is currently being implemented in the bachelor's and master's degree programs in Virtual Design and in the bachelor's and master's degree programs in Civil Engineering
The re-accreditation of the Virtual Design degree programs and thus the completion of the pilot phase for this model took place in 2023. The structure of the advisory board model has been and continues to be optimized and is open to all degree programs.
