Materials science goes digital

"Materials science goes digital" is a project funded by the "Innovation in university teaching" foundation, which makes it possible to bring together materials science from different subject areas and disciplines. Specifically, materials science from the departments of "Applied Engineering" and "Building and Design" were linked in this application in order to connect students on an interdisciplinary basis. The central coordination at Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences and the role of project sponsor will be assumed by SoliD - Souverän lernen im Digitalen (Link). SoliD aims to enable students and lecturers at Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences to find their way through the jungle of digital learning and teaching opportunities. To this end, learning and further education courses are being designed, the range of hardware and software is being expanded and conferences and exchange events are being held for a broad target group.

The resulting platform is available after registration under OpenOlat  (Link) and offers the possibility of networking between students from both faculties, viewing and downloading lecture and laboratory documents, information through podcasts and participation in online question and answer sessions as well as the opportunity to test your own knowledge in quizzes.

We hope for active participation and good networking in the digital world of materials science...
