The overarching goal of the research space and the training program is to build subject-specific knowledge and interdisciplinary expertise among early-career researchers in order to develop innovative solutions at the intersections of process engineering, electrical engineering, and life sciences for current and future challenges, particularly in medicine, biotechnology, and biomedical diagnostics. Facilitating such innovative research, combined with its integration into teaching, will be of great benefit both in attracting early-career researchers (students, graduates pursuing doctoral work, and postdocs) and in recruiting research-active professors in the research areas described.
