Joint offer for newly appointed professors at universities of applied sciences in Rhineland-Palatinate
Together with other universities of applied sciences (HAW) in Rhineland-Palatinate, a course has been offered since the 2017/2018 winter semester that makes it easier for newly appointed lecturers at universities of applied sciences in Rhineland-Palatinate to get started in teaching. This course is to be held before the start of each lecture period and will introduce participants not only to university teaching methods, but also to the operational and organizational structures of the participating universities.
Concept and Objectives
The aim of the program is to support newly appointed professors in planning and implementing their teaching in a didactically sound manner, to help them find their feet in the higher education system, and to offer them an opportunity to exchange ideas with other teachers. Newly appointed professors are given the opportunity to work on their own courses and thus consistently apply what they have learned to their teaching practice. Since teachers from different universities and disciplines participate in the workshop, everyone benefits from an interdisciplinary exchange of experiences.
