Development report for a study program
The development report for a degree program contains a compilation of key figures and evaluation results from all phases of the student life cycle. The data mainly relates to the degree program itself. In individual presentations, related degree programs, usually from the same department, are included for comparison. Depending on the data available, results are also reported exclusively at the department level. The aim is for those who are responsable for the study program to use the information obtained in this way as part of internal quality assurance to derive improvement strategies for the respective degree program offering with regard to the following development factors:
- DEMAND
- STRUCTURAL STUDIABILITY
- TEACHING ASPECTS
- ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT
- INTERNATIONALISATION
- DIVERSITY
The development report is divided into three parts. Part A compiles data from the last five years on the degree program and students in all phases of the student life cycle, which is available in the university's campus management system (HIS-in-One). This data is supplemented as necessary by data from individual departments. Part B contains selected evaluation results from initial student surveys (SEB), graduation surveys (SAB), and graduate surveys (AB) with reference to the development factors, each in comparison with the corresponding overall value for the department. Data from course evaluations is not used.
The report is supplemented by an analysis and explanation by the program director (Part C). Additional information is provided that is not apparent from a mere review of the data and thus establishes a connection to the overall context. In addition, a summary analysis and assessment is written for each of the above-mentioned development factors and, if necessary, measures are defined that aim to further develop and improve the quality of the program.
The submission of development reports should encourage those who are responsible for the degree program to address the above-mentioned development factors on a regular basis (at least twice during the accreditation period). At least once during the accreditation period, those who are responsible for the degree program must also submit an assessment and measures derived from the development factors (Part C).
