Scholarships for first-year female students
The university wants to actively promote diversity and has set itself the goal of increasing the proportion of women in STEM degree programmes. For this reason, scholarships totalling €150 per month are awarded for a period of one year. The aim is to ensure that female scholarship holders can concentrate fully on their studies during the sensitive initial phase. Funding begins in the winter semester and ends at the end of the funding period. Funding ends immediately if a scholarship holder discontinues her studies.
You must be enrolled as a first-year student in a STEM Bachelor's programme at the University of Kaiserslautern when you submit your application. The application, including all required documents (see 'How do I apply for a scholarship?'), must be submitted in full to the University by 1 November at the latest.
Selection is based on a set of criteria. The following criteria will be taken into account:
previous school performance and
extracurricular social activities or
migration experience (<10 years) or
difficulties in studying due to a disability/chronic illness or
social background (first graduate in the family).
Special personal circumstances such as caring responsibilities (e.g. caring for family members, bringing up children) will be taken into account for all criteria.
Funding for first-time enrolment in a Master's degree programme is only possible in exceptional cases (e.g. first degree in Germany, change of degree programme to a STEM subject).
Please note that you can only be funded if you are not working alongside your studies or only to a limited extent (max. 520€ per month).
