Behavioral Influence as Open Educational Resource (2026)
We were pleased to welcome Prof. Dr. Timo Becker from the Department of Business Administration as an interdisciplinary guest to the HCI Lab. His presentation, “Open Educational Resources for Behavioral Influence in and by Organizations,” provided a comprehensive overview of an ambitious project aimed at systematically designing strategies to influence behavior.
FAIRD at the Symposium on Business Informatics (2025)
In November 2025, the 2nd Symposium on Business Informatics was held at Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences. The event focused on the question of how artificial intelligence can be developed responsibly within the context of technological innovation and regulatory frameworks. During the symposium, Prof. Dr. Jan Conrad presented his talk “News from FAIRD” and provided insights into current developments in the FAIRD project. The goal of FAIRD is to make Large Language Models (LLMs) usable in a local, privacy- compliant environment and to make their responses more context-based and verifiable.
Digital Orthotic Solutions: “HelpMeWalk” at DMEA (2025)
At DMEA 2025, Europe’s leading trade fair for digital health, the University of Applied Sciences Kaiserslautern presented its research work on the HelpMeWalk project for the digital capture of anatomical shapes. At the VDE joint booth, the team led by Prof. Dr. Uwe Tronnier
from the Department of Computer Science and Microsystems Engineering in Zweibrücken presented a method designed to replace traditional plaster casting in orthopedic technology with a precise digital solution.

DesktopXR is a project at University of Applied Sciences Kaiserslautern that explores and evaluates the integration of AR and VR applications into daily work at the desk.
This video shows the results of Pascal Pries' master's thesis. The topic of the master's thesis was the construction of scenarios in a VR application that show the possibilities of combining VR-supported work at the desk.
This video was produced as part of the bachelor's thesis by Adrian Risch, together with Sebastian Morsch.
