First MultiSense PhD

Pratika Rai successfully defended her PhD thesis, becoming the first doctoral graduate of the Forschungskolleg MultiSense.

New Project

MeXenz funded

2026

The MeXenz project has been selected for funding under the BMFTR HAW-ForschungsAkzente programme. The four-year project starts on 1 January 2027 and will develop MXene-based electrochemical biosensors for early and minimally invasive differential diagnosis of dementia.

Our work on cross-platform biosensing of immune receptors was selected for an Advanced Science frontispiece. The study uses peptide-functionalized graphene sensing platforms for rapid, label-free detection of immune markers.

  • 16 Apr - Pratika Rai successfully defended her PhD thesis; first doctoral graduate of Forschungskolleg MultiSense.
  • 25 Aug - Official start of the new HAW doctoral clusters in Rhineland-Palatinate; Biomedical and Environmental Life Sciences (BELife) is coordinated by Hochschule Kaiserslautern. Alexey Tarasov is a full member of BELife.
