Study “International Business Administration” at Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences:

In this 7-semester-long degree program, traditional business knowledge and foreign language skills are interconnected. In order to acquire soft skills and intercultural abilities, the course includes either a practical project/internship at a company or a mobility semester, which can be spent either in Argentina or elsewhere abroad.
In addition to the Bachelor of Arts, which is awarded by the University following successful completion of the course, there is also the possibility of a Double Degree, which is awarded in exchange with our Argentinian partner university, Universidad Nacional del Litoral (UNL).

Mobility Semester

During the 5th semester, there is a mandatory mobility semester, which must be spent either in Germany or abroad in a non-German-speaking country.
If the Double Degree with UNL is desired, an exchange with Argentina can take place in semesters 5-7 over 3 semesters.
If students do not participate in the Double Degree bachelor’s program with Argentina, they are obligated to take the mobility module which could be a semester abroad or an internship.

Internship

Within the Bachelor‘s program, one internship has to be completed in the 7th semester. In addition, students have the opportunity to complete an extra internship during their 5th semester if they choose not to go abroad.

Our “International Business Administration” degree program not only conveys extensive theoretical knowledge, but also combines concepts with close practical relevance, international orientation, and a semester abroad. In this 7-semester-long degree program, traditional business knowledge and foreign language skills are interconnected. In order to acquire soft skills and intercultural abilities, the course includes a practical project/internship at a company as well as a mobility semester, which can be spent abroad or once again at a company.

The course teaches both traditional business knowledge and intercultural skills (including foreign language skills). The course can be structured as follows:

The focus is on teaching traditional business management knowledge such as business administration, economics, law, computer science and soft skills, but also on acquiring intercultural competence. Studying in two foreign languages (German and Spanish) is mandatory, and a third foreign language is also included in the course.

  • Preparation for a globalized, international job market
  • Language advantages (German and Spanish are very widespread languages, additional 3rd foreign language)
  • Collaboration with people from different backgrounds
  • Double Degree possible
  • Qualification for master’s degree courses (such as International Management and Finance to further expand the international components)

Bachelor‘s Thesis

The 7th semester is dedicated to the bachelor’s thesis. Alongside the preparation of the thesis, a colloquium, a scientific discussion pertaining to the Bachelor’s thesis, is held.

Career Prospects

  • With its combination of practical orientation and sound theoretical application, the bachelor’s degree program opens up very good career development opportunities for graduates within international-level companies.
  • The teaching and learning methods used in knowledge transfer are geared towards the development of personal initiative and responsibility, communication and cooperation skills as well as methodological and problem-solving skills.
  • By dealing with current issues as well as teaching content and methods to promote personal development, graduates are expected to distinguish themselves beyond the pure working environment through a critical examination of the environment and increased international responsibility.
  • Double Degrees and acquired skills are of interest to global companies

International Focus

The international component is a fundamental part of the degree program. The study abroad opportunity not only enables students to acquire and deepen new knowledge from different perspectives, but also to learn a foreign language, get to know the culture of other countries, and experience unforgettable moments.

The 5th semester of the degree program is set as a mobility semester, in which students can study abroad. Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences works together with more than 50 partner universities worldwide, those of which students can choose from. Students who wish to accumulate further international experiences may extend their study abroad to two semesters.

Only those who have earned at least 60 ECTS credits are eligible for the mobility module. In the case of other exchange programs, the language requirements are determined by the examination board.

The “International Business Administration” degree program can be completed in cooperation with the Universidad Nacional del Litoral (UNL) in Argentina. In this program, students experience three semesters in Argentina, those of which two are spent at the university and one is for an internship semester.

After returning to Germany and following the completion of the last semester, students receive a Bachelor of Arts from Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences as well as a degree Licenciado en Administración from UNL.

Prerequisites for participants of the Double Degree program are a Spanish level of B2, the acquisition of at least 90 ECTS within the first four semesters and an application to the International Office by the end of the 3rd semester (a letter of motivation must be attached in two languages, one of which is in Spanish).

For students of HSKL, there is the possibility to receive a scholarship during the semester abroad in Argentina.

  • DAAD Scholarship for studying abroad in Argentina
  • 1325€ / Month
  • 1735€ for flights
  • Additional language courses
