we have some news from the University Library:

As part of the Open Library Project, opening hours are being extended at all three locations.

The new opening hours are:

•    Campus Zweibrücken:    Mon–Fri 8:30 am – 10 pm, Sat 9 am–10 pm

•    Campus Pirmasens:        Mon–Fri 8:30 am – 12 noon, 12:30 pm–8 pm

•    Campus Kaiserslautern:  Mon–Fri 8:30 am – 9 pm, Sat 8 am–6 pm

(In Kaiserslautern, the extension of opening hours will be slightly delayed due to building works.

Until then, the library will be open Mon–Thu 8:30 am – 4 pm and Fri 8:30 am – 1 pm).

The Library staff will continue to be available at all locations, generally Monday to Thursday from 8:30 am to 3 pm and on Fridays from 8:30 am to 1 pm.

Important information

After staffed service hours have ended, the library remains accessible without staff on site (‘Open Library’).

• Access during Open Library hours is only possible following personal authentication at the entrance to the relevant library. You will need a student or staff ID card for this.

• Detailed instructions on authentication can be found in the appendix and on our website

• The library is under CCTV surveillance during Open Library hours. Information on data protection can be found in the data protection notice: Datenschutzhinweisblatt  and in the library regulations

• A dedicated device is available for self-checking out of items.

• Items can be returned via the return box.

es gibt Neuigkeiten aus der Hochschulbibliothek: An allen drei Standorten werden die Öffnungszeiten im Rahmen des Open Library Projekts erweitert.

Die neuen Öffnungszeiten sind:

• Standort Zweibrücken: Mo – Fr 8:30 – 22 Uhr, Sa 9 – 22 Uhr
• Standort Pirmasens: Mo – Fr 8:30 – 12 Uhr, 12:30 – 20 Uhr
• Standort Kaiserslautern: Mo – Fr 8:30 – 21 Uhr, Sa 8 – 18 Uhr (in Kaiserslautern wird sich die Ausweitung der Öffnungszeiten auf Grund baulicher Maßnahmen etwas verzögern. Bis zu diesem Zeitpunkt ist die Bibliothek Mo-Do 8:30 – 16 Uhr und Fr von 8:30 – 13 Uhr geöffnet).

Das Bibliothekspersonal steht Ihnen weiterhin an allen Standorten in der Regel montags bis donnerstags von 8:30 bis 15:00 Uhr sowie freitags von 8:30 bis 13:00 Uhr zur Verfügung.

Wichtige Hinweise

Nach Ende der personalbesetzten Servicezeiten ist die Bibliothek weiterhin ohne anwesendes Personal zugänglich („Open Library“).

• Der Zugang während der Open-Library-Zeiten ist nur nach persönlicher Authentifizierung am Eingang der jeweiligen Bibliothek möglich. Dafür benötigen Sie einen Studierenden- oder Beschäftigtenausweis.
• Eine ausführliche Anleitung zur Authentifizierung finden Sie im Anhang sowie auf unserer Webseite.
• Während der Open-Library-Zeiten wird die Bibliothek videoüberwacht. Informationen zum Datenschutz finden Sie im Datenschutzhinweisblatt sowie in der Bibliotheksordnung
• Für die selbstständige Verbuchung von Medien steht ein entsprechendes Gerät zur Verfügung.
• Medienrückgaben können über die Rückgabebox vorgenommen werden.
