Dear colleagues and students,

The university library with its three locations in Kaiserslautern, Zweibrücken and Pirmasens will be switching to a new library system at the start of the 2024 winter semester.

Preparations have been in full swing since the beginning of the year - but our usual service has not yet been affected.

This will now change:

- From the beginning of July until 11.10.24, interlibrary loan will no longer be available

- From the end of August, it will no longer be possible to send reminder e-mails (reminders of expiry dates) from the library system

- Reservations on borrowed media are also no longer possible from the end of August

- Books that are borrowed from mid-August onwards have loan periods that extend beyond the system changeover (21.10.24).

- As we have to carry out extensive tests after the system changeover, there may be minor delays in borrowing during the first few days. However, it will still be possible to borrow and return items during this time. As usual, we will be available to all users with help and advice at the start of the semester.

What does not change:

Media can still be borrowed and returned.

We are there for you as usual during the opening hours of the lecture-free period.

Our reading room is still at your disposal.

You can also continue to use our online services.
